What to Expect From Your Inspection

When we get to the property we will walk the roof (weather and conditions permitting) and inspect all components up close. We encourage you to attend and ask questions so you can learn about your soon to be new home.

As we evaluate each system of the house (structure, roof, attic, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems) we will be using a thorough & easy to understand reporting system that will have a summary and overview of the property with pictures & video for us to go over at the end of the inspection.

Our goal is to leave you with all the information you need to make a well informed decision about your new home.

What Should You NOT Expect From Your Inspection

A home inspection in the Chippewa Falls, WI area is not protection against future failures, stuff happens. Components like air conditioners and heating systems can and will break down. A home inspection tells you the condition of the component at the time the component was inspected. For protection from future failure you may want to consider a home warranty. A home inspection is not an appraisal that determines the value of a home, nor will a home inspector tell you if you should buy this home or what to pay for this home. A home inspection is not a code inspection, which verifies local building code compliance. Homes built before code revisions are not obligated to comply with the code for homes built today. Home inspectors will report findings when it comes to safety concerns that may be in the current code such as ungrounded outlets above sinks.

Can a House Fail an Inspection?

No.

A professional home inspection is an examination of the current condition of a house, not an appraisal, which determines market value. It is not a municipal inspection, which verifies local code compliance. Which means a home inspector, therefore, we will not pass or fail a house, but rather describe its physical condition at the time of the inspection and indicate what components and systems may need major repair or replacement.
